25 Years!
March 13, 2009
If you check the wonderful new logo carefully, you’ll see a banner underneath announcing our 25th Anniversary. That’s quite a milestone for the AIDS Support Network (ASN). We are proud to have been a part of the safety net in our community for the past 25 years and pleased to have provided the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of services we have delivered for the many, many clients that have come through our doors.
ASN started small – volunteers who were strongly influenced by the times and by circumstances came together to provide assistance to a marginalized group of county residents. That spirit of volunteerism led to the AIDS Patient Support Group and, after that, to the AIDS Support Network. Over the years, we’ve grown, trying to keep pace with the needs and challenges our clients face.
The agency will be celebrating this landmark in several ways over the course of the year. We will be setting more stones along the Path of Remembrance in the Steve Weiss AIDS Living Memorial Grove; we will be having an ASN Birthday Party; and we will be bringing the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt to the community. You can click on the button that says “ASN Calendar” and keep tabs on the dates for these activities as announced, as well as our fund-raisers and symposiums.
You can also click here to receive “E-News” from us. We hope that you’ll take advantage of that opportunity and continue to be informed about who we are, what we do and why we’re in the community.
Many thanks to our supporters, volunteers and donors. We couldn’t have succeeded for the past 25 years without your help!
